Founded in 1979 by Ivone Gaspari, Gaspari Utensili srl was initially involved in the sharpening of tools for third parties . The dynamism of the mechanical machining market and the consequent development of the tool world have led the company to embark on the path of designing and manufacturing special tools on commission. The first years were characterized by the production of custom tools in HSS, and then the range was extended to include hard metal, brazed and mechanical fastening.
The company is currently run by his sons Alessio and Ennio , who respectively deal with the technical consultancy and commercial management of the company.
The last few years have been characterized by modernization : a new fleet of machines , advanced technical drawing and CAM design software and renewed working methods. All this has led Gaspari Utensili to be a dynamic and flexible reality , ready to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding market. The technological development and the experience gained over the years have made the company team ready to face the most varied mechanical processing problems , proposing solutions consistent with the specific needs of the client.

Our laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge machinery , constantly renewed to ensure reliability and precision of processing.
The machine park consists of numerous manual sharpeners, each equipped for a specific type of tool. Over the years, four CNC sharpeners and a wire erosion machine have been added, systems that allow us to create complex profiles with centesimal tolerances. The department dedicated to the construction of mechanically fastened and brazed bodies consists of three lathes and five 5-axis milling machines . There are also four grinding machines (tangential, external and internal) and a welding and brazing department .
This sharpening machine allows the production of hard metal and HSS tools to very high precision standards. It has a chain loader capable of storing up to 320 items, thus also allowing unattended processing. The sharpening machine is equipped with a CNC follow-up steady rest with synchronized operation, thanks to which tools up to 600 mm long can be machined.
Our CNC sharpening department consists of two Saacke sharpeners, a Deckel S20 and a Zaro.
The new universal lathe DMG Mori CLX450 allows the production of parts up to ø400 mm and length of 800 mm. Thanks to the integrated busbar holder, bars up to ø80 mm can be processed unattended.
This lathe is able to produce finishes similar to grinding and small milling operations, in addition to the usual turning phases.
The CB Ferrari A176 machining center with Heidenhain TNC640 control allows the creation of high precision milling, where strict tolerances and high finishes are required. It is therefore our flagship in the milling of complex insert seats and the creation of chip evacuation compartments in the helix.
The generous dimensions of the cabin allow the machining of tools up to 1200 mm in length.
Since 2020 Gaspari Utensili has been collaborating with the Salesian Don Bosco Institute in Schio for the professional training course in dual system mechanics .
With the aim of spreading his skills in the field of mechanics and tools , Alessio Gaspari has written a series of books entitled “The Technologist”. The figure of the technologist is interposed between the worker , who realizes the mechanical parts, and the engineer who designed the same. The necklace, consisting of three volumes, starts from the basic principles of mechanical processing to gradually go deeper into the problems and technical solutions to be adopted. A particular focus is given to the world of tooling, its correct use and maintenance.

From the comparison with other metalworking companies we discovered a minimum common denominator: the hunger for skilled labor. Nowadays it is increasingly difficult for our companies to find young people who have attended technical schools. So there are no workers, but also quality managers, department heads, maintenance workers, etc. On the other side of the coin, the youth unemployment rate in 2021 stood at 29.8%. Within this frightening number we find hundreds of thousands of children frustrated by the inability to find a job in line with their educational background. Among these ranks are many young people who realize too late that they have not made the right school choice after middle school.
