In recent years we have heard more and more often about the circular economy. It seems a distant term from the operational reality, but is it really so? Ebbene, l’affilatura di un utensile usurato non è forse una scelta di riutilizzo? Questa volta la risposta è SÌ. Volendo trovare una regola generale, infatti, la riaffilatura di un utensile consente di portarlo ad una performance paragonabile al nuovo con un costo che solitamente non supera il 30% del suo valore di acquisto.
Gaspari Utensili was born as a company specializing in the sharpening of worn tools and even today this activity is part of the company’s core business . In our long history, manual sharpeners have multiplied, each equipped for a specific process. The necessity of reproduce the profiles and shapes of the main tool manufacturers, made it necessary to combine these manual machines with the most modern numerical control sharpeners. Our sharpening department therefore consists of numerous manual sharpeners and four CNC sharpeners (Deckel, Saacke and Zaro). The latter are equipped with NUM software, which is constantly updated to keep up with the new sharpening launched by the giants of tooling . We are therefore able to re-sharpen, following the original geometry, all types of tools which are typically used in the workshop. Whether in HSS, hard metal or brazed, we are able to regenerate the profile of drills, cannon drills, cutters, cusps, countersinks, taps, reamers, counter bores, disc cutters, miter discs and lathe tools.
We always advise our customers to perform a surface coating on tools. This treatment is entrusted to our partner Oerlikon Balzers Coating Italy ®, European leader in coatings of mechanical components, gears and tools.
The coating allows to preserve the cutting edge from wear and friction of the chip , increasing the useful life. Depending on the type of material to be processed, we accompany the customer in choosing the most suitable coating . In fact, each material, behaving differently and subjecting the tool to different stresses, requires a specific treatment.
This opens up a range of PVD and CVD coatings ranging from the common TiN and TiAlN, to move on to AlCrN, ZrN and DLC coatings. There are specific coatings for the processing of cast irons, hardened steels, stainless steel; the right coating will make a difference in the performance of your tool .
Gaspari Utensili offers its customers a real sharpening management system : the Roseplastic® logistic system box.. In fact, plastic boxes of different sizes are supplied (depending on the need) accompanied by trays in expanded sponge. These trays have a particularity, it is high density sponges with grooves inside which tools can be housed. By surmounting one tray on top of the other and placing the stack inside the box, you are ready for a safe transport without the risk of breakage and chipping of tools .
