The countersink is one of the most commonly found tools in a machine shop or carpentry.
The idea of an innovative tool was born from the flaring of the tube plate holes for the heat exchangers, inspired by the traditional HSS countersink but with an extra gear. The need to guarantee repeatability over time, duration and improved performance compared to a countersink, led us to design a medlar with interchangeable inserts.
This item has been designed for use on a pillar drill and CNC. The three eccentric screws allow a quick change of the inserts, granting an easy an intuitive usage even for less skilled personnel.
The insert is in HSSCo9%, is ground and sharpened with logarithmic geometry, TiN coating. The same insert is also available in the solid carbide version with TiN coating.

The need to ensure repeatability over time, durability and improved
performance compared to a common countersink, led us to design a countersink with interchangeable inserts.
The three eccentric screws allow you to quickly change the
inserts, obtaining in a few seconds a new countersink ready for use.
The insert is made by HSSCo9%, it is rectified and sharpened with logarithmic geometry, TiN coated. The same insert is also available in the solid carbide version with TiN coating.
What really differentiates this innovative product from traditional medlar is its life span, which makes it a cheaper solution than purchasing HSS countersinks. Just change 3 inserts and you will get a new countersink, at a lower cost than buying a traditional tool. This also eliminates tool re-sharpening and the need to keep excess tools available.
In this product line we find countersinks that allow machining from ø10 mm to ø32 mm, or from ø20 mm to ø42 mm or from ø41 mm to ø63 mm. Depending on requirements, we have ø42 mm and ø63 mm countersinks with cylindrical shank ø12 mm or ø25 mm and fixing surface or morse taper attachment.
